Slow Game Club 2026: Building a Better, More Connected Community

Over the past year, you’ve told us what you love about Slow Game Club - and what could make it even better. We’ve listened closely, and in 2026 we’re introducing a host of changes designed to make your experience more interactive, social, and inspiring. Here’s what’s coming across our community, podcasts, game selections, and charity impact.

🗨️ Community

You asked for more ways to connect, share your thoughts, and dig deeper into each month’s game - and we’re delivering.

You asked for:
• More prompts to help spark discussion and build out your review or final thoughts on the game
• More spaces to chat and connect with others, through both text and voice

We’re bringing you:
• Weekly Tuesday prompts written by games journalists to help you reflect on the game as you play
• Thursday evening community sessions where everyone can discuss the month’s game via audio or text channels
• The ability to create your own discussion groups if you can’t make the scheduled sessions or want to host themed conversations
• A monthly community competition to create something inspired by the game - art, design, story, anything - with winners featured and given a small prize each month

🎙️ Podcasts

Our podcasts are evolving to bring you even closer to the developers and to each other.

You asked for:
• More interactivity during Developer Q&As
• Conversations that go deeper, even into spoiler territory
• Better clarity about when community questions are answered

We’re bringing you:
• A new live podcast format that embraces spoilers and encourages deeper discussion about each game’s story and themes
• A monthly community co-host, featuring that month’s Slow Game Club Ambassador
• A clearer structure - one hour of in-depth interview followed by 30 minutes dedicated entirely to community questions

🎮 Games

Our monthly lineup is getting a major refresh: bigger titles, more variety, and deeper insights into each pick.

You asked for:
• A wider range of genres and styles
• Newer, higher-value games
• More background and analysis when each game is announced

We’re bringing you:
• A new theme, “Indie Hits & Hidden Gems,” replacing the Noir & Mystery genre
• A year of recent, standout indie releases, with 75% of titles launched in 2025 or 2026
• A three-game reveal at the start of the year so you can see what’s ahead
• In-depth profiles for every game in your monthly rollout email, including a short review from our Ambassador

💛 Charity Impact

Slow Game Club has always been more than a place to play - it’s a way to make a difference. Your subscription directly supports Into Games, helping underrepresented people find fulfilling careers in the games industry.

You asked for:
• More frequent updates about how your support is making an impact
• A clearer understanding of how Slow Game Club connects to Into Games

We’re bringing you:
• A monthly social impact email sharing stories from the people your support has helped, updates on our programmes, and real examples of the difference you’re making
• A clearer connection between Slow Game Club and Into Games, including updated language and charity details on the website so you can always see where your money goes

Thank You

Slow Game Club is what it is because of you - a community that cares deeply about games, creativity, and impact. Here’s to 2026: more conversation, more connection, and more games worth slowing down for.
